APPLICATION PREPARATION PACKET (APP)
NURSING GENERAL TRACK-
PREFERRED OPTION
FALL 2023 START
This packet is for students who wish to submit application in Spring 2023 for General
Track- Preferred Option to start in Fall 2023. Preferred Option curriculum requires all
pre-requisite coursework to complete no later than end of semester concurrent with
program application submission. Minimum grade of “C” required for all pre-requisite
courses.
Applicants choose GENERAL (Preferred) on program application form. Program
provides two application opportunities each academic year for General Track:
• Spring application for subsequent Fall semester start
• Summer application for subsequent Spring semester start.
Applicants who do not receive a seat in a particular application opportunity must
reapply to be considered in a future selection process.

program requirements and criteria necessary to submit program application. The

Pre-Requisite Coursework
Pre-requisite coursework includes general education courses necessary to meet
College requirements for the AS degree and general education courses specific to the
nursing program.
Program requirements for pre-requisite coursework:
• Must complete by end of Spring Semester 2023
• Must earn minimum grade of “C”
• Must show outcome of Area and/or Course substitutions by end of Spring
Semester 2023
• Must complete the credit hours (CH) indicated in pre-requisite course list

Grade Amnesty Instructions
Determine your “consideration point”:
• Start at Fall Semester 2022
• Count back ten (10) years
• Land on Fall Semester 2012
Fall Semester 2012 is the first semester you may start blinding course work.
Set your “blind point”:
• Determine how far behind your consideration point you wish to start blinding course work
for manual GPA calculation
• Create balance among blinded coursework, loss of pre-requisite coursework, and GPA
benefit
o ENC1101 is preserved if completion of ENC1102 with minimum grade of “C” is
not blinded
o MAC1105 or MGF1106 is preserved if completion of higher level math course
with minimum grade of “C” is not blinded
• All coursework including the semester you set blind point and behind is blinded- you may
not pick and choose specific courses
• Grade Forgiveness applies before Grade Amnesty; blinded courses already cancelled by
grade forgiveness yield not benefit in grade amnesty calculation
Update Request for Subsequent Application Attempts:
Each grade amnesty request is valid only for the application opportunity for which it is
submitted. Subsequent application opportunities require updated grade amnesty requests.
This applies whether or not you complete additional coursework.

Amnesty GPA for selection consideration is calculated after program application opportunity deadline to allow receipt and
evaluation of all transfer work. Amnesty “blinds” all coursework from selected start date and older for all institutions attended.
5.
Select start date to maximize amnesty GPA calculation and retain maximum number of degree and program required
pre-requisite courses.
6.
Submit new request for each application opportunity to the nursing program.
