CITY OF LONG BEACH BEACH INFORMATION – 2009
WHO NEED’S A BEACH PASS?
Everyone age 13 and older must have paid the admission fee to be permitted on the
beach 9am-6pm on weekends from May 23, 2009 through June 20, 2009 and daily
from June 20, 2009 through September 7, 2009. A birth certificate is required for
each child listed on the application. Non-residents are entitled to the same
privileges as residents.
WHEN & WHERE CAN I PURCHASE
SEASON PASSES?
Season Passes are sold at the Beach Park Office located in Veterans Park across from
the Arena and at various locations on the boardwalk. Passes are also sold on the
boardwalk at Edwards Blvd. The Beach Park Office is open 7 days a week from June
22 thru Labor Day from 9am to 4pm, weather permitting. Monday through Friday
10am to 3pm, weather permitting.
PROOF OF RESIDENCY AND AGE:
All residents must present photo identification and proof of residency, such as
drivers license, automobile registration, voter registration card, lease or tax bill. A
birth certificate is required for each child listed on the application.
WHERE & WHEN CAN I PURCHASE
DAILY PASSES?
Daily admission tickets will be sold to all adults and children who have reached their
thirteenth (13) birthday at the rate of $10.00 per day. Locations for the sale of daily
admission tickets are on the boardwalk at Neptune Blvd., Franklin Blvd., Lincoln
Blvd., Monroe Blvd., Long Beach Blvd., Edwards Blvd. Ramp, Lafayette Blvd., New
York Ave. and at the beach entrances on Pacific Blvd., LB Blvd., Edwards Blvd. &
National Blvd. Avenue. Daily passes will also be sold at the following West End
storefront locations - Beach Bagel on Ohio Avenue, Bally Bannon Market Place on
Minnesota Avenue, Paninis and Bikinis on Wyoming Avenue and Lilly’s Corner on
New York
ARE DISCOUNT PASSES AVAILABLE?
Yes, economy passes with (10) admissions are available for $60 (a $40 savings).
They may be used by one individual or several.
WHAT IF I LOSE MY PASS?
We are sorry, but beach passes will not be Replaced or refunded under any
circumstances. Lost passes, if found, will be returned.
ARE THERE ACCOMMODATIONS FOR THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED?
Yes, the City of Long Beach has ADA compliant boardwalk ramps at New York Ave.,
Laurelton Blvd., Riverside Blvd., Neptune Blvd. and National Blvd. There is also a
ramp on Tennessee Avenue that has been designed for easy dune cross-over. Surf
Chairs for the physically challenged are available by contacting Lifeguard
Headquarters at
431-1810. Beach Patrol personnel will bring one to you. Roll-out ramps are placed
at various beaches so you can easily go right down to the surf line.
CAN I GET THERE BY TRAIN?
Yes, our beautiful beaches are just steps away from the Long Island Railroad.
Express trains are available from Penn Station.
